Aero Leather Clothing was founded in London, UK, in 1975 by Ken Calder. In 1983, the company relocated to Galashiels, Scotland, where it manufactures and sells leather jackets and other products using front quarter horsehide, considered the finest quality in the world.
Aero Leather strives for excellence in every step of its manufacturing process. It begins with skilled artisans selecting the leather, followed by meticulous hand-cutting of both the leather and lining. Its sewing machine operators use traditional, old-fashioned machines, applying 3.25 times the normal sewing pressure.
Once a single jacket is sewn by one artisan, it undergoes a rigorous 28-point inspection by a quality control manager, and only approved jackets are shipped.
Currently, there are nine artisans, and the company has no intention of changing its small-scale, quality-first approach or engaging in mass production.
Each artisan, possessing unique and unparalleled skills, takes responsibility for their work and prides themselves on being "the best in the world." This dedication to craftsmanship and the "monozukuri" (manufacturing) philosophy is what defines Aero Leather.

In accordance with US law, all horsehide used comes from naturally deceased horses. Horween, the most skilled tannery in America, tans the thickest and most durable front quarter hides exclusively for Aero Leather Clothing.
Today, horsehide is an extremely valuable leather, and its smooth surface can only be achieved with Aero Leather.
Furthermore, Aero Leather's horsehide is chrome-tanned and almost completely waterproof.
As one delves deeper into leather, one naturally arrives at horsehide, and there's a reason why, once you wear horsehide, you can't go back to other leathers.
Aero Leather products are initially as stiff as lead plates, but over the years of "wearing them out," they soften and mold to the wearer's body and intended use.
Each of these unique pieces develops its own character, becoming a one-of-a-kind garment in the world.
