■WESCO Japan Limited Trekking Boots ZIGZAG Cinnamon Desperado Waxed Leather
The ZIGZAG, released in 2024 as a Japan-exclusive model, is WESCO's first-ever trekking boot in its 100+ year history. It was born from various trials and errors to combine durability, waterproofing, and functionality for serious use with a fashionable design for town use. The ZIGZAG features various dedicated equipment not found in other WESCO boots. ■Waxed Leather This leather is made by applying wax to the rough-out side of thick 9oz cowhide, specially prepared for ZIGZAG, to enhance durability and water resistance. It also offers benefits unique to waxed leather, such as being able to make minor scratches less noticeable by simply rubbing them. ■Waterproof Stitching The stitching on the upper is made using only fine threads to enhance waterproofing. Triple stitching is also employed to improve durability. ■Speed Lacing Hook Traditional hooks operate by hooking the laces, raising concerns about the laces coming undone if caught on rocks or branches. Therefore, new hardware was developed. These hooks allow for speedy putting on and taking off, as the laces can be tightened and loosened while remaining threaded through the holes. This part complements both outdoor and military tastes. ■Exclusive High-Performance Insole Currently, other WESCO boot models use leather insoles. While leather is durable, it has drawbacks in terms of moisture absorption and cushioning. Therefore, a dedicated insole was developed for this more active model. The surface that touches the foot uses "Cambrelle." This is a moisture-wicking material that can absorb 350% of its own weight in just 0.5 seconds. It also excels in breathability, moisture permeability, abrasion resistance, and antibacterial properties. The cushioning material in the middle layer uses "PolyU." PolyU, with its continuous foam structure, allows air to pass through with almost no resistance, offering the benefit of preventing sweaty feet. Additionally, it contains antibacterial agents and activated carbon in its raw materials, providing antibacterial and deodorizing effects. The back of the insole uses "Jersey." To enhance durability and prevent the insole from slipping back and forth inside the boot, a jersey material was added to the back. It is breathable and does not hinder the functions of Cambrelle or PolyU. Of course, like other WESCO boots, custom orders are also possible to suit your preferences. At the age of 16, he learned shoemaking at Bradley Shoe Company and Goodyear Shoe Company in the West, and later went independent. His spirit has been continuously passed down to his grandson, current president Roberta Shoemaker, and he continues the family business, which is now difficult to find in America, never shifting to mass production and prioritizing quality, a stance that will never change. "Boots That Stand The Gaff" - With these words, Wesco, constantly evolving without resting on the techniques and reputation cultivated over its long history, will continue to protect the feet of tough American men such as loggers, linemen, and firefighters, and captivate fans worldwide.
Features of WESCO Carefully Considered and Meticulous Process Each pair of Wesco boots undergoes thorough quality control, with all cutting, sewing, and sole attachment performed in-house. They are crafted through 155 traditional handcrafted steps, requiring advanced technical skill. Among these, the stitch-down construction method, which WESCO has stubbornly adhered to since its founding, is a traditional American method that is now difficult to find elsewhere, and is characterized by its excellent durability, waterproofing, and flexibility. Superior Durability To prevent deformation, protect the arch, and reduce strain on the foot, WESCO adopted 'steel shanks'—a manufacturing process that requires more effort—ahead of other boot manufacturers. Furthermore, the combination of heavy-duty leather that can withstand harsh environments, carefully selected U.S.A. VIBRAM soles, and stitch-down construction results in exceptionally superior durability. High Functionality Loved by Tough Men Since its establishment, WESCO boots have continuously supported the feet of men in the most demanding and tough professions, including loggers, linemen, police officers, and firefighters. The high functionality and quality, backed by this proven track record, are unmatched by other work boots or fashion boots. Unchanged Stance Since Founding and New Challenges The commitment to prioritizing high quality over mass production has remained unchanged since 1918. And under that steadfast belief, they do not neglect new challenges. An example of this is the Firestormer, added to the lineup in 2003. Its proven ability to support firefighters' feet for 40 minutes in temperatures as high as 246℃ was widely reported in the media. Also, in 2011, more specialized models for electrical workers, such as Voltfoe and Groundout, were announced, attracting significant attention. "Your Own Boots" - One of a Kind in the World Based on a customer-oriented approach, custom orders are available for single pairs to match individual lifestyles, including usage conditions and preferences. Currently, WESCO produces 13 main models. WESCO boots are largely characterized by the ability to provide customers with the optimal pair from a wide range of custom options, including leather colors, height, toes, shafts, soles, linings, straps, stitching, buckles, rings, eyelets, and more. Products purchased from authorized Wesco dealers come with a guarantee card. Presenting this card entitles you to a free first-time heel replacement. Sole replacements are available for 9,000 yen (excluding tax). Shipping costs for sending the boots to us are to be borne by the customer. Box designs vary depending on the delivery period. Please note that you cannot choose the design. Regarding the product Wesco products are handcrafted by artisans. Additionally, some parts are made using traditional Pedersen's RAPID sewing machines, which means that even if the same last and manufacturing method are used, individual differences will occur. Furthermore, the following points may arise, so please confirm the details and understand them. Please be assured that any products judged as defective during Wesco's inspection process will not be shipped. ・Scratches on the upper and wrinkles or scratches that occur due to the use of natural leather ・Wrinkles or scratches that occur during processing ・Bloodlines and color unevenness peculiar to leather ・Adhesive residue and unavoidable stains from the production process ・Errors in stitch spacing ・Errors between left and right ・Errors in shaft (boot height) between left and right ・Marks from the sewing machine ・Specification changes without prior notice ・Crushed boxes |
