■WAREHOUSE Long Sleeve Reverse Style Crew Neck Print Sweatshirt MIAMI HIGH FOOTBALL WH483

This newly developed sweatshirt is the result of repeated trial and error to recreate the RW type from the 1960s.
This revolutionary athletic sweatshirt, which uses the fabric horizontally to reduce shrinkage, tends to draw attention to its side panels, but its true characteristic lies in the "yarn."
The fabric, woven with an extremely tight gauge, is firm yet elastic, and heavy yet surprisingly soft.
What Warehouse is particular about is the "grain" of the fabric.
"Having a prominent fabric grain" usually means "vertical lines" in a regular sweatshirt, but in this RW model, it means "horizontal lines."
To make the grain prominent, not only the yarn count but also the method of tightening the gauge were changed repeatedly.
What we finally arrived at was a "plying" method, which is unusual for a sweatshirt.
Normally, sweatshirts are knitted by combining one yarn for the face, one for the middle, and one for the back, but by plying, it became easier to tighten the gauge.
Furthermore, due to the characteristics of the loopwheel knitting machine, the fabric could be made firm while maintaining its elasticity, and the surface grain could be made prominent.
Historically, even with the same yarn specifications, a sinker knitting machine, which was adopted later, would result in a fabric that was too stiff, and the difference in the finished knit is said to be evident.
The "weight" of the finished fabric requires skilled work during dyeing and sewing. Dyeing puts a greater load than usual, and sewing is not as easy as with lightweight knitwear.
The "baton relay" of cooperation in all processes—fabric, dyeing, and sewing—is the "weight" of this RW-type sweatshirt.
I will also discuss the origin of this RW model later.
Remarkably, when analyzing torn parts of the fabric of 1960s vintage items, commonly known as "Tataki-tag" (pounded tag),
it was found that "plied" yarns were exposed.
The spirit of the pioneers who attempted to develop athletic wear with an idyllic yet uncompromising approach can only be discovered through the "unending pursuit of detail."
