■WAREHOUSE Flannel Shirt Long Sleeve Check Pattern E One Wash WH3104

A meticulously crafted standard model, made with original fabric using rare power looms

Introducing WAREHOUSE's classic flannel shirt, a staple every year.
The fabric for these flannel shirts, which have been in production since the company's founding in 1995, is made using power looms, which are only found in limited areas of Japan.
These power looms can only produce a limited number of pieces of fabric per day and require the skill of experienced craftsmen.
There is a reason why these inefficient power looms are used to create flannel fabric.
It's because using power looms allows the fabric to be finished without losing the texture of the slub yarn.
Just like denim, the yarn used to weave vintage flannel shirts was uneven slub yarn back in the day.
If this yarn were woven with strong tension on an innovative loom, it would result in a different fabric, and the original properties of the yarn would be lost.
By weaving with an old-fashioned power loom, the flannel is woven with appropriate tension, preserving the natural unevenness of each individual yarn.
Once the flannel fabric is made, the back of the fabric is brushed, following the techniques of the time.
Brushing gives the pattern a soft look and adds fullness to the fabric,
This further enhances the unique soft texture that only power looms can provide.
In this way, flannel woven on a power loom has a texture that can only be achieved by reproducing the yarn itself.
The simplest way to identify this is the presence or absence of selvedge (ears),
Similar to vintage flannel shirts from around the 1960s, WAREHOUSE also uses selvedge in the gusset.

Since it has been pre-washed, it will not shrink any further.
