■WAREHOUSE Flannel Shirt Long Sleeve Check Pattern B One Wash WH3104
A meticulously crafted classic model, made with original fabric using rare power looms Introducing Warehouse's annual classic flannel shirt. Since its establishment in 1995, the fabric for our flannel shirts has been produced using power looms, which are only found in a limited number of regions in Japan. These power looms can only produce a limited amount of fabric per day and require the skill of experienced artisans. There's a reason why we use these inefficient power looms to create flannel fabric. That's because using a power loom allows us to finish the fabric without compromising the texture of the slub yarn. Similar to denim, the yarn used to weave vintage flannel shirts was irregular slub yarn in those days. If this yarn were woven with strong tension on a modern loom, it would result in a different fabric, and the original properties of the yarn would be lost. By weaving with an old-fashioned power loom, the flannel woven with appropriate tension maintains the inherent irregularities of each individual thread, becoming fabric as it was meant to be. The woven flannel fabric then undergoes a brushing process on the reverse side, following the techniques of the era. Brushing gives the pattern a soft appearance and adds bulk to the fabric, elevating the unique feel of the power loom to an even softer touch. Thus, flannel woven on a power loom possesses a texture that can only be achieved by reproducing the yarn itself. The simplest way to identify this is the presence or absence of selvedge (ears), and just like vintage flannel shirts from around the 1960s, Warehouse also uses selvedge on the gusset. Since it has been washed, it will not shrink any further. Weight: 620g ![]() Since its establishment in 1995, WAREHOUSE has been a brand that relentlessly pursues the theme of "faithful reproduction of vintage clothing," never being swayed by the changing trends of the fashion industry. We thoroughly research every aspect, from a single thread to the fabric, sewing, and even the washing process, considering the historical background of the era in which each cherished vintage piece was produced. ![]() ![]() Blue
