The Rocky Mountain Featherbed down vest was born in the 1960s in Wyoming, USA,
inspired by Native American capes.
Boasting warmth and insulation comparable to a down comforter (FEATHERED), it enjoyed overwhelming popularity,
but the brand disappeared in the late 1980s. In the vintage market, it came to be traded at high prices, primarily among enthusiasts.
The revived Rocky Mountain Featherbed was born from an exhaustive study of this legendary brand,
achieving a level of perfection that even surpasses the original.

The item introduced here features a custom-ordered colorway and specification by WAREHOUSE.

The outer fabric is denim, while the inner collar is made of corduroy fabric.
The lining uses custom-made 70-denier nylon, pursuing comfort and durability.

The highest-quality European white duck down is
washed and treated with a water-repellent finish in Japan.
This prevents the loss of insulation when wet, which is the down's weakness.
The fill power, which indicates the warmth of the down, boasts the highest level of 700 fill power.

The distinctive shoulder yoke is made of single-piece horsehide.
We deliberately select and use pieces with natural scratches and irregularities inherent to leather.

A brand born in the late 1960s in the town of Jackson, Wyoming, USA. It boasts overwhelming popularity in the vintage market as a cold-weather wear brand for cowboys. This brand, which disappeared in the 1980s, was traded at premium prices among fans, but was revived in 2005.

Since its founding in 1995, despite being in an industry influenced by fashion trends, it is a brand that never follows them, pursuing the theme of "faithful reproductions of vintage clothing." It thoroughly studies a single vintage piece it happened to encounter, considering the background of the era in which it was produced, from every single thread to the fabric, sewing, and washing process.

CLASSIC TAFETTA
Custom-ordered 70D nylon taffeta, used to create the brand's signature down vest, is adopted as the lining. Currently, nylon taffeta generally available on the market has 210 weft insertions and is waterproofed by applying an acrylic coating to the back to fill the fabric's pores, but it has almost no breathability. CLASSIC TAFFETA is a high-density taffeta with over 50 more weft insertions than that, and by applying a silicone finish instead of a coating, it achieves equivalent waterproofing while also ensuring breathability.

LEATHER
The leather is vegetable-and-chrome combination-tanned. By using a dye-dyed method, it retains the natural texture inherent to the leather.

DOWN
European white duck down is used for the down. The ratio is 90% down and 10% feather, and by deliberately adding 10% feather, it creates a lofted appearance. To maintain high quality, the down is washed in Japan and treated with a water-repellent finish.

BUTTON
All buttons are designed to be fastened by bending two prongs. The discontinued style has been specially reproduced.

Maintenance

■After Use
To maintain warmth, please store the down on a hanger or similar after wearing it so as not to crush the loft (puffiness). By maintaining the loft, the feathers retain warm air, increasing insulation. We recommend storing it in a place with good air circulation. Also, to avoid damaging the fabric, please store it in a place away from direct sunlight.

■Feather Protrusion
Feathers may occasionally protrude through the fabric weave or seams. If they come out through a seam, they can be removed by applying duct tape and peeling it off. If they come out of the fabric, pinch the feathers from the back of the fabric where they are protruding and pull them back into the garment. Gently rubbing the area where the feathers were protruding will make the marks disappear.

■Leather Care
Brush or wipe dry to remove dust and dirt from the leather yoke. For strong stains or other marks, take a small amount of leather cleaner on a soft cloth and wipe away the dirt. For daily maintenance, take a small amount of leather oil or cream on a soft cloth and spread it thinly and evenly over the entire surface. Store it on a hanger or similar until the oil penetrates. *Please be sure to test the leather cleaner, leather oil, or cream on an inconspicuous area before use.

■Nylon Care
Dissolve soap or neutral detergent in water, soak a soft sponge or brush in the solution, and wipe away dirt by rubbing. After that, thoroughly rinse only the parts with detergent with water.

■Shearling Care
Gently tap to remove dust and dirt. For strong stains, dissolve soap or neutral detergent in water, soak a soft sponge or cloth in it, and gently tap to wipe away the dirt.
