■WAREHOUSE Lot.2232 WERBER LEATHER COAT CO. Type A-2 ORDER NO.33-1729
![]() Model Height 175 cm, Weight 62 kg, wearing size 38 Jeans, sweatshirts, leather jackets. Warehouse proudly releases the "A-2", one of the three sacred treasures representing vintage clothing. As flight attire, it was first adopted in 1931 by the then-US Army Air Corps as a uniform for aircraft crew members, and soon became a status symbol for the Air Corps. It gained high popularity as a high-performance garment that could withstand wind, rain, dirt, and some cold, and was also adopted as a casual jacket for holidays. Knit cuffs and a waistband prevent wind from entering, and closing the collar provides insulation. Furthermore, since it was made from tanned horsehide, unlike fabric clothing, it would not get caught on handles, control instruments, corners, or other sharp parts inside the aircraft. It was born from improvements to the A-1 jacket, based on feedback from pilots who actually wore it. "Werber Leather Coat Co.", which was at the forefront of suppliers starting in 1931, initially attached buttonholes and buttons, similar to the A-1 jacket, to the pocket flaps. The company, which had already gained the trust of the Quartermaster by acquiring multiple patents related to leather jackets, used its experience to improve the pocket flaps to a snap-button type. Amidst many restrictions imposed on manufacturing plants due to the establishment of labor unions by the NRA, Werber Leather Coat Co. may have succeeded in meeting the military's demands for cost reduction and functional updates. Thus, in 1933, the first delivery as a complete Type A-1 was Order No. 33-1729. It was several years ago that Warehouse miraculously acquired this first model. Since then, the development of materials gradually and carefully began, and after a long time, it has finally been born. A major external feature is the zipper end with rivets. This zipper, which is even older than the eyelets unique to the early 1930s, is truly a symbol of the earliest A-2s. ・Full vegetable tanned horsehide ・Sulfur pre-dyed selvedge broad lining ・100% wool rib ・Original pin-lock zipper Weight: 1620g ![]() Since its establishment in 1995, this brand has pursued the theme of "faithful reproduction of vintage clothing," never being swayed by the trends of the fashion industry. They thoroughly research a vintage item they encounter, considering the background of the era in which it was produced, from a single thread to the fabric, sewing, and even the washing process. ![]() ![]() ![]() Brown
