■WAREHOUSE Lot 1239 1930'S WPA DOUBLE KNEE DENIM TROUSERS
 Model: Height 175cm, Weight 62kg, Wearing 31-inch unwashed Amidst the large-scale programs of the WPA, workwear for blue-collar laborers was produced. These were made in sewing rooms called "SEWING ROOMS," and the garments were tagged with "Made by W.P.A. SEWING ROOMS, NOT TO BE SOLD." In states where these sewing rooms existed, seamstresses in each state took great pride in their work, declaring that the initials "W.P.A." stood for "We Patch Anything." Sometimes, they repaired military clothing, rearranged it to create new garments, which were then worn by "WPA" workers. The design and sewing specifications of such "WPA" garments are truly interesting. The design is based on military workwear, with many arrangements. As the name "SEWING ROOM" suggests, the sewing specifications frequently used "single-needle stitching" rather than the "chain stitching" that was mainstream for workwear at the time.
