Levi Strauss & Co. patented "a method of using metal rivets to reinforce clothing pockets" 150 years ago on May 20, 1873.
One year later, on August 25, 1874, "Greenbaum Brothers," located in the same San Francisco, patented a method of reinforcing stress points with leather. Until the rivet patent expired in the 1890s,
Greenbaum Brothers' pants were supplied as durable workwear from the West, booming with mineral resource mining, to the Midwest. Greenbaum Brothers celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2024.
We are reproducing their original "leather-bound overalls," an original design they created in the 19th century, using our unique "two-by-one denim" that stands out from the rest.
