Horween Chromexcel leather, from a long-established American tannery, is known for its traditional manufacturing process of chrome and vegetable tanning, and its rich oil content, making it soft and quick to break in. Although it is prone to fine scratches, they quickly become unnoticeable with a leather brush or oiling. Another appealing feature is that as it is used, the brown core underneath becomes visible because only the surface is dyed, a technique called "hill dyeing."

In 1974, when jeans were gradually gaining popularity in Japan but there were no belts suitable for them, Art Brown was founded as a workshop dedicated to making robust belts that would complement jeans. Since its inception, we have been committed to the belt-making process, using a single piece of leather so thick it cannot be cut with scissors, and delivering belts meticulously crafted by artisans one by one.
