Chromexcel leather from Horween, a long-established American tannery,
is made with a traditional process of combined chrome and vegetable tanning, and is rich in oil.
It is characterized by its suppleness and quick break-in.
While it is prone to minor scratches, they quickly become unnoticeable with a leather brush or oiling.
Another attractive feature is that it is "hill-dyed," meaning only the surface is colored, so the brown core will show through with use.
