The Japan Map pattern condenses beautiful Japanese scenery such as Mt. Fuji, a five-story pagoda, and torii gates. It reproduces a vintage piece from the early 1950s, characterized by its luxurious design with minimal plain areas and the entire back covered in embroidery. The red ribbed accents, unrelated to the green x off-white body, are also a unique feature of souvenir jackets from this era. The reversible side features a gold dragon embroidery, with a composition like a Japanese painting that skillfully uses negative space, in contrast to the front. The dragons and tigers on the chest are the same as on the front, but this is because vintage pieces were made using the same "embroidery pattern" on both sides. This shows the dedication of embroiderers of that time to change the color scheme even for the same pattern to match the fabric color.
