 Another special edition commemorating Toyo Enterprise's 60th anniversary is this "brocade" souvenir jacket. Among the many vintage sukajan jackets, this piece is extremely rare, with its design expressed through "weaving" rather than embroidery. The shining silver threads on the black body depict ancient Japanese motifs: bamboo grass and tigers, and thunderclouds and dragons. In the early 1950s, brocade fabric woven in historical textile producing areas of the Kanto region, such as Kiryu in Gunma Prefecture and Gun'nai in Fujiyoshida in Yamanashi Prefecture, was used as one of the variations of sukajan jackets. This is an ultra-rare collector's item, even rarer than the super-rare skull patterns and hand-printed designs. The reversible side features a classic sukajan embroidered design of an eagle spreading its wings wide. The unique touch of the pine branches, the red lines emphasizing the eagle's eyes, and the dynamic curved expressions of its beak, claws, and wingtips offer a glimpse into the high-level techniques and sensibilities of the embroiderers of that time. This is a masterpiece with high artistic as well as historical value. This Special Edition meticulously recreates carefully selected masterpieces from the Tailor Toyo collection, paying close attention to every detail. Not only are the intricate designs reproduced with horizontal embroidery, but the acetate fabric is adjusted to be indistinguishable from vintage, and the wool ribs are knitted one by one using old-fashioned horizontal knitting machines. For the reversible zipper, the fastening machines from over 50 years ago have been reactivated to reproduce the same hand-bent zippers as back then. Using the label of Kosho Shokai, the predecessor of Tailor Toyo, the finish evokes the golden age of vintage sukajan jackets.
