 This special edition commemorates the year of the snake in 2025. Toyo Enterprise Co., Ltd., founded in 1965, celebrates its 60th anniversary. Taking the "souvenir jacket," which can be considered the company's roots, as its theme, This piece is not a reproduction of a vintage item, but an original design depicted through embroidery. The front features a white snake standing in a bamboo grove at night, glowing mysteriously in the moonlight. Two colors are used for the snake's body, and different colored threads are used for the bamboo, This intricate design uses three different types of white embroidery threads. The leaves are depicted with a two-color green gradation. Among the embroidery composed of pale threads, vivid red is used for the snake's eyes and tongue, emphasizing the presence of the white snake by adding red to the center of the pattern. The body appears to be a black and white monotone at first glance, but the piping is green x white, and green lines are also incorporated into the ribbing, balancing the overall design with the green in the embroidery. The reversible side evokes spring, depicting a Japan map surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms and a white snake coiling as if protecting Japan. If you look closely at the depiction of the snake's scales, on the front, shading was created by layering freehand embroidery, but on the reverse side, the embroidery is omitted, utilizing the black ground color to create a three-dimensional effect. The ribbing uses a rare vintage turquoise blue. The design is original and backed by years of experience in vintage reproduction. This Special Edition meticulously reproduces selected masterpieces from the Tailor Toyo collection with attention to detail. In addition to the intricate designs drawn with freehand embroidery, the acetate fabric is adjusted to be comparable to vintage items, and the wool ribbing is knitted one by one using old-fashioned flat knitting machines. For the reversible zippers, fastening machines from over 50 years ago were reactivated, and the hand-bent zippers of that era are reproduced. Using the label of KOSHO & Co., the predecessor of Tailor Toyo, the finished product evokes the heyday of vintage souvenir jackets.
