 In honor of the dragon, the zodiac animal of 2024, this Year of the Dragon collection revives exquisite dragon-patterned souvenir jackets. To cap it off as a special edition, Tailor Toyo has meticulously selected embroidery from vintage dragon-motif souvenir jackets in its collection, creating a luxurious "double A-side" specification that combines two "A-sides" (main sides) into one jacket. The front features a black monochrome body reminiscent of midnight, embroidered with a silver shimmering dragon that suddenly appears from the waves, and fiercely burning pillars of fire. The realistic dragon, depicted with intricate embroidery faithfully following the original design, evokes divinity and dignity. This piece possesses an artistic charm, likely crafted by skilled embroiderers who had long been involved in traditional Japanese embroidery at the time. The reversible side features a pattern of twin dragons entwined and ascending to the heavens. Although it's a complex design with two dragons crossing, the detailed needlework and colored threads used for each section are masterfully rendered. In contrast to the monotone front, this side boasts a green and gold body, a classic color scheme for souvenir jackets. The dull green ribs, consistent with vintage pieces, further enhance the antique feel. This Special Edition meticulously recreates carefully selected masterpieces from Tailor Toyo's collection, paying close attention to every detail. Not only are the designs intricately embroidered with transverse embroidery, but the acetate fabric is adjusted to be on par with vintage quality, and the wool ribs are individually knitted using old-fashioned flat knitting machines. The zippers for the reversible specification are also reproduced to be hand-bent, just like those from over 50 years ago, by reactivating old fastening machines. Using the label of KOSHO & Co., the predecessor of Tailor Toyo, the finish evokes the golden age of vintage souvenir jackets.
