This is a replica of the A-2 worn by Steve McQueen, who played the main character Captain Virgil Hilts, in the 1963 film "The Great Escape." This reproduction was created by thoroughly examining still images from steel photographs and film footage from that time, as well as multiple vintage A-2 jackets owned by director Hiroshi Okamoto, from every angle, including the size, leather color, and texture of the decorations. This is a flagship model that has been improved upon since the brand's establishment. < A-2 > The development of a light and functional jacket with a short length that wouldn't hinder leg movement began. After two years of research, the Type A-1, the first leather jacket and summer flight jacket, was completed in 1925 and officially adopted in 1927. Although the history of the A-2 flight jacket came to a close after further improvements, many pilots continued to wear this A-2 and flew into battle. That jacket was the best friend who fought through fierce battles that we cannot even imagine, and also a testament to surviving that era.
