Kamehameha, a brand of Kamehameha Garment Company, was founded by Herb Briner in 1936.
This "Matson Menu design" created by the company is a highly collectible item and can be considered a masterpiece that every vintage aloha shirt collector would want to get their hands on.
Its popularity continues to this day, and its market value is still rising.

From the early 20th century until 1969, Matson Line was a shipping route connecting San Francisco and Hawaii.
Two artists, Frank McIntosh and Eugene Savage, were commissioned by the company to paint the covers of the menus used in Matson Line's shipboard restaurants.
This piece is a highly accomplished work where Savage's menu cover design has been reconfigured and skillfully incorporated into the shirt.
The textile design is attributed to "John McMillan," which is a pseudonym for the renowned designer "John Meigs," who used two different names at the time.
