＜Product Description＞
During World War II, the 100th Infantry Battalion was formed by Japanese Americans from Hawaii.
Their success on the Italian front led the U.S. Army to form the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, adding Nisei (second-generation Japanese Americans) volunteers.
Their achievements were remarkable, and it is no exaggeration to say that this unit significantly contributed to improving the status of Japanese Americans in the U.S. at the time.
This piece is a shirt commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team's formation, designed by Jackson Morisawa.
It proudly depicts scenes from the European front, the motto "GO FOR BROKE" (do or die) they upheld, as well as regimental and division insignia.
The fabric also reproduces the vintage original, using a cotton poplin with a slightly ribbed weft,
offering a unique texture that combines softness with a crisp feel.
The original was created by Polynesian Sportswear, a brand of Polynesian Casuals.
The company also manufactured shirts and dresses for famous Hawaiian brands.
