The main motif is the ukulele, an instrument symbolizing the perpetually summer paradise of Hawaii.
Hibiscus flowers are discharge-printed in monochrome in the background, and Hawaiian scenery is depicted inside the ukuleles, making for an exquisite design.
In the 1950s, aloha shirts established their position as resort wear even in mainland America, ushering in an era where various apparel brands entered the aloha shirt market, and designs incorporating mainland American trends also emerged.
