■SUN SURF Cotton/Linen Open Collar Shirt HELE-MAI-E SS39501

Model: Height 175cm Weight 62kg wearing L
This design, expressed using the reverse side of the fabric, is a creation of "Pacific Sportswear," a Japanese-American manufacturer led by Kenichi Tanaka, which started as Tanaka Sportswear Shop in 1934. The company was one of the brands that expanded the shirt business market in the 1950s, along with Malihini Sportswear and Sun Fashions. The product name "Hele-Mai-E" means "Come here" in Hawaiian. It features a typical chop suey pattern depicting King Kamehameha and hula girls alongside the Hawaiian islands.

Cotton/linen is easier to care for than rayon and can be machine washed. The faint print color on the reverse side of the fabric is also attractive.
