 This shirt was produced by "National," which operated a chain of stores across the United States selling resort wear. As the number of tourists to Hawaii surged, aloha shirts gained attention as gift items. The boom spread to the U.S. mainland and accelerated further. When aloha shirts began to be worn for golf, changes also appeared in the designs depicted on the shirts. Products with subdued color schemes and smaller motifs to prevent an overly strong pattern impact began to be produced.
