The motif is the Coral Hibiscus, a flower native to East Africa. It crossed the sea to the Polynesian islands, and was brought to Hawaii by the people living there. Its unique flower color and shape, unlike other hibiscus species, are captivating. It produces pinkish-red flowers. Its color, resembling coral pink, led to its name, Coral Hibiscus.
