Venice, the city of water, has many canals, and many gondolas still ply its waters.
This is why this hat is called a boater hat, as it was favored by the gondoliers who elegantly steered their boats.
It is made from carefully woven cattail, which was used as a material for various hats until around the 1940s.
The ribbon, a classic hat detail, uses SUNSURF rayon fabric with a knot on the side,
a standard 38mm specification.

For this collaboration, SUNSURF commissioned "Mr.FATMAN," led by THE FAT HATTER, to create these hats.
Mr.FATMAN is a brand that produces products "beyond ready-made," based on the culture of the 1950s, the golden age of hats.
Because this is a collaboration between two parties deeply knowledgeable about the 50s,
they were able to create the perfect hat to complement an aloha shirt. Not only are the carefully selected materials and shaping techniques evident,
but both brands' commitment to detail is also apparent in elements such as the "I-stitch" used for sewing the leather sweatband.

Hawaii and Panama Hats
Perhaps due to Hawaii's history of developing as a resort island, it strongly evokes an image of casual attire. However, influenced by the ruling countries like Britain, France,
and America, photographs from that era show gentlemen in suits and hats.
The Matson Line, a luxury liner sailing from San Francisco to Hawaii, featured "Panama hats and Aloha shirts" as local attire for men in its brochures,
and these hats, loved by royalty, became a staple item in Hawaii.
