T-shirts and sweatshirts from before the 1960s are now called vintage, and various brands use them as design sources.
These were manufactured using fabric woven on old-fashioned knitting machines called "loop-wheeling machines," which knit fabric in a cylindrical shape.
Currently, these knitting machines are only operational in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan.
Through years of relationship with factories in Wakayama, D'ARTISAN releases items made from loop-wheeled fabric every season,
which have been well-received by customers.
The unique texture created by using "loop-wheeling machines," which were commonly used until the 60s.
These T-shirts evoke the texture of that era, with a thickness that feels as if air has been knitted into the fabric and a moderate unevenness, created by knitting at a very slow speed, where it can barely weave 1m of fabric in approximately 1 hour of operation.
Union Special, a renowned sewing machine, is used for stitching.
With discharge printing and other details, this is a piece where you can feel D'ARTISAN's dedication to every detail.

Founded in 1979, Studio D'Artisan means "Artisan Workshop." At that time, the concept of making jeans called "vintage replica" hardly existed in the Japanese jeans market. It is a pioneering brand that established the foundation of manufacturing, pursuing the dream of reproducing the essence of jeans themselves in the shadow of efficiency aimed at mass production.
