■D'ARTISAN STUDIO D'ARTISAN 13.5oz Ishikawadai Denim Jacket First Type SD-4111
![]() <Model: 175cm tall, 62kg weight, wearing size 38> This design is based on a 1940s denim jacket using original Ishikawadai denim. Since cotton thread is used for sewing, you can enjoy the aging process as the denim fades. To faithfully reproduce the denim of that time, a low-tech process was deliberately adopted from yarn spinning to finishing. This is a carefully crafted denim that prioritizes texture and historical reproducibility over efficiency. <Ishikawadai> "Ishikawadai" is the oldest Japanese-made ring spinning machine currently in operation, manufactured by Ishikawa Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in 1953. There are no records remaining at the manufacturer, and it is currently believed to be the oldest spinning machine operating in Japan. Compared to the latest ring spinning machines, its speed is about 1/3, and it can only spin at a slow pace, so productivity is not high. However, because there is less stress on the cotton, it brings out the inherent gentle texture of the cotton and creates unevenness like hand-spun yarn, which computers cannot reproduce, giving it a natural look unique to cotton. The indigo dyeing of the warp threads preserves the unique texture of this cotton, and the usual refining process of the yarn is omitted, creating uneven indigo dyeing similar to vintage denim of that era. To reproduce the denim of 1953, the entire process is intentionally carried out using low-tech methods. Products made with "Ishikawadai Denim" using yarn spun on this Ishikawadai machine will undergo repeated aging and be given new life as the next generation of vintage wear. Fabric thickness: 13.5oz Style: 1st type Weight: 940g ![]() STUDIO D'ARTISAN, founded in 1979, means "artisan studio." At that time, the concept of making jeans, now called vintage replicas, hardly existed in the Japanese jeans market. It is a pioneering brand that laid the foundation for manufacturing, pursuing the dream of reproducing the original flavor of jeans in the shadow of efficiency aimed at mass production. ![]()
