■SUGAR CANE 14.25oz Denim Slim Tapered Jeans STANDARD SERIES SC42021A
![]() <Model: Height 175cm, Weight 60kg, Wearing size 28> This is the fourth model in Sugar Cane's Standard Jeans Series (following SC41047, SC42009, and SC42014). It features the first slim tapered silhouette. This label does not merely follow the superficial details found in vintage jeans, but rather recreates vintage denim by meticulously adhering to every process, from yarn spinning to dyeing, weaving, and sewing. They produce "standard jeans" that are loved by many people and continue to be made for a long time as timeless classics. While the silhouette is slimmer than the existing three models, the biggest difference is the fabric thickness. SC42009 and SC42014 used 12oz denim for comfort, but this SC42021 uses 14.25oz selvedge denim woven on old power looms, just like SC41947. You can expect aging that sets it apart from light ounce denim, such as whiskering on the thighs and honeycomb fading behind the knees. The silhouette has a slightly deeper rise and a slightly looser hip area than the slim model SC42014, but this SC42021 tapers more narrowly towards the hem. The details of each part are based on Sugar Cane's "1947 Model," which meticulously reproduces the charm seen in late 1940s vintage jeans. The front features a button fly. Following vintage styles, original engraved iron buttons are used. The coin pocket opening is lined with selvedge and reinforced with punch-through copper rivets. The deerskin patch is sewn along with the belt loops when stitching the top of the waistband. Furthermore, just like vintage items from an era when standards were not unified, dozens of types of cotton thread with different colors and thicknesses are used in various places for sewing. The concealed rivets (hidden rivets) on the hip pockets are not visible from the outside but can be seen from the inside. This detail was adopted in 1937 because exposed rivets could damage horse saddles, etc. Thick cotton thread is used for the stitches in the crotch area, where stress is applied during wear. Bar tacks are added for reinforcement in the thick areas where the fabric gathers. The corners of the pocket bags are finished with a curve. Selvedge is used on the edge of the outseam allowance, and the inside of the hem stitch is chain-stitched. ![]() For many years, SUGAR CANE has continued to create button-down apparel with meticulous attention to detail. It is a long-established brand of vintage American casual wear from Toyo Enterprise, which also owns flight jacket and collectible Hawaiian shirt brands such as Buzz Rickson's and Sun Surf. ![]()
