"Lot.401" sugarcane denim made with Hawaiian indigo, a counterpart to the Ryukyu indigo model.
The fabric has a strong blue tint and a distinctive uneven texture. The label is made of hair-on-hide branded with a turtle, which is considered a messenger of the gods in Hawaii.
The back pockets feature sashiko stitching embroidered by hand.
The silhouette is a regular straight cut, similar to the 1947 model (Lot No. SC41947).

SUGAR CANE FIBER DENIM (Sugarcane Denim)
"Sugarcane Denim" is an original denim made using sugarcane, from which the brand name SUGAR CANE comes.
The fibrous material called "bagasse," which remains after refining sugar, is blended with cotton and woven into fabric.
This denim, created by recycling sugarcane, possesses antibacterial, deodorizing, and anti-static properties due to the amino acid effects contained in sugarcane.

SUGAR CANE has been consistently producing meticulously crafted button-down wear for many years. It is an established vintage American casual wear brand under Toyo Enterprises, which also owns flight jacket and collectible Hawaiian shirt brands such as Buzz Rickson's and Sun Surf.
