The pattern was selected from a 1950s TOWNCRAFT box-style sports shirt, and the fabric was recreated by replacing wool with cotton.
It is composed of 4 warp threads and 4 weft threads, including heathered yarn, and dobby weaving is used to create a dashed check pattern.
The style is a work shirt with two flap pockets, featuring a curved back yoke and underarm gussets for reinforcement, details that were omitted over time for production efficiency.
The cuff placket has a binder finish, and the single-piece placket makes it tear-resistant and robust.
