■REDWING 11-inch Pecos Boots, Hawthorne Muleskinner Roughout No.8060
REDWING 11inch ペコス ブーツ ホーソーンミュールスキナーラフアウト No.8060

Pecos boots are a type of Western work boot developed by Red Wing Shoe Company. Western boots, originally derived from Spanish riding boots, are pull-on boots with side seams on both sides of the shaft. Many of them have slightly pointed toes and high heels, which were suitable for smoothly inserting the foot into the stirrup while riding and firmly gripping it. Red Wing Shoe Company once had a base in Texas and also sold Western boots in the 1930s. The Pecos boot was born in 1953, designed as a simple, sturdy boot suitable for various types of work, applying Red Wing's expertise in functional work boot design methods to these Western boots.

Red Wing later trademarked the Pecos boot and launched a full product line, introducing them widely in 1959. Subsequently, sales steadily increased across the United States, including the Southwest and Texas, and also in Central America, becoming a major pillar of Red Wing's work boot business. Various models were created as simple, unadorned Western-style work boots, combining a thick, unlined single-piece leather shaft and a durable rubber sole.

The Pecos boot released on Red Wing's 120th anniversary features a high 11-inch shaft, yet uses the same #17 last as the shorter 9-inch Pecos. It combines an easy-to-wear, stable, low sole without a heel base, like a Roper boot, with popular leather. It can be said to be a design that fits the modern era while maintaining the manufacturing methods from when the Pecos boot was first created.

*PECOS is a registered trademark of Red Wing Shoe Company, and this name cannot be used for shoes other than those produced by our company. It is also trademarked in Japan.

Red Wing products can be repaired at the manufacturer's headquarters for years to come. In addition to sole replacement, we offer repairs for restitching, reattaching hardware, etc. We handle as many repairs as possible. Please contact us for repair inquiries.

Please note that there may be wrinkles characteristic of genuine leather. We ask for your understanding regarding this natural feature of leather products before purchasing.

Muleskinner leather is roughout leather, and for basic care, please use the rubber bar (which can be used like an eraser to rub off dirt) and brush (to raise the nap of napped leather) from the "Roughout/Nubuck Cleaner Kit". This Muleskinner leather contains oil, but frequent oiling is not necessary. However, if the oil in this leather appears to be drying out, apply "Leather Cream" to a cloth and gently press it into the leather little by little to allow the oil to penetrate, which will make the leather feel supple. It takes a considerable amount of time to oil napped leather, so please be patient. Also, regular brushing is effective in preventing dirt and mold on your boots. Please use a long horsehair Red Wing "brush" which is highly effective in removing dust.
