The 55 Denim features a wider straight cut than regular denim, making it a 5-pocket denim for those who love the silhouette of work pants.
Although previously sewn with a similar color scheme, we used a finer thread count to enhance the vintage feel.
The front buttons are original iron, the rivets are solid copper original rivets, and the rayon red tab is also reproduced in the same way as vintage items to further enhance the vintage feel.
With a deep rise and a relaxed silhouette, combined with the softness of the denim, these jeans offer outstanding comfort!!

<About LAST RESORT (Heirloom Sword)>
It is said that 501XX denim was woven with a 7-count warp and 6-count weft. In the 1950s, spinning technology in America was not yet stable.
After disassembling and analyzing vintage deadstock, it was found that there were discrepancies in thread thickness by decimal points depending on the individual garment.
The yarn used to weave this original denim has been reproduced down to the decimal point based on our analysis results.
The larger the thread count, the finer the yarn becomes. The calculation method defines a 1-count yarn as 1 pound (approx. 454 grams) weighing 840 yards (approx. 768 meters) long. A 2-count yarn is twice as long (1680 meters), and a 3-count yarn is three times as long (2520 meters).
As the number increases, the yarn becomes finer, making it possible to reproduce yarn counts down to the decimal point.
Therefore, to reproduce this fabric, it was necessary to create the yarn from scratch, starting with cotton selection, to produce original weaving yarn.
The 501XX used yarns with completely different fiber lengths for warp and weft; medium-staple cotton for the warp and extra-long staple cotton for the weft.
To reproduce this denim, we carefully selected American cotton that was as close as possible to the fiber length of the time, believing it to be the same cotton used back then.
Cotton can vary depending on the cultivation region; long-staple cotton is grown in warmer areas, and short-staple cotton in colder areas.
America has regions suitable for both, allowing the cultivation of cotton with characteristics of both types. This enabled us to insist on American cotton with a fiber length close to the yarn of the time.
We used EMOT (Eastern, Memphis, New Orleans, Texas) cotton, collected from around Memphis, for the warp, and Pima cotton cultivated in California for the weft.
We also reproduced the yarn twist coefficient, successfully recreating the same yarn as back then.
For dyeing, the spun raw yarn first undergoes a process called warping before dyeing.
This process involves bundling 600-900 raw yarns into a rope shape, about 6000 yards (approx. 5,486m) long, and winding them into a cylindrical form. The equipment used in this process was uniquely developed by a certain company.
After warping is complete, the raw yarn is dyed with indigo dye using the rope dyeing machine, which was successfully developed for the first time in Japan.
The pure white raw yarn passes through multiple indigo dye vats and is squeezed by rollers.
Initially, it appears a vibrant green, but as it is wound up high, it is exposed to air and oxidizes, gradually changing to indigo blue.
By adjusting the indigo dye blend, the exposure time to air, and the yarn tension, various shades of indigo can be expressed.
This also makes it possible to achieve the essential core-white property (where the core of the yarn is not dyed) for the unique fading of jeans.
Adjusting each machine requires skilled techniques (craftsmanship) from experienced operators.
After that, the indigo-dyed warp yarn is sized and finished, and finally shipped to the weaving factory (hataya) where the fabric is actually woven.
Commitment to weaving: Scientifically analyze this 501XX, reproduce the exact same yarn as back then, meaning yarn of the same specifications, and weave it.
To achieve thorough craftsmanship here, we use the TOYODA G3 power loom, said to be the first to operate in Japan, under the guidance of skilled artisans who can weave according to the exact number of threads.
Furthermore, the selvedge was also reproduced by disassembling vintage items and dyeing it to the same red ear color as back then, investigating and reproducing the number of threads running on either side of the red ear.
We also meticulously reproduce parts other than the denim fabric.
These are the processes through which the 501XX fabric of the time, "LAST RESORT (Heirloom Sword)," has been reproduced.

JELADO
JELADO was founded in 2004. Based on "AMERICAN VINTAGE" born in America more than half a century ago, we elevate them to modern fashion. All products are manufactured in Japan. This is because Japan is the only country in the world that can give shape to the subtle nuances and ideas intended at the planning stage.
