＜Western Style Using Zimbabwe Cotton＞ A denim jacket made with 14.5oz left-hand twill Zimbabwe cotton fabric, featuring Western-style details such as chest pockets and adjuster buttons on the waist. While selecting each part's design to closely resemble vintage aesthetics, the brand's unique character is also firmly expressed by using heavy 14.5oz Zimbabwe cotton. ＜Zimbabwe Cotton Fabric with Unique Vertical Fading＞ This jacket uses left-hand twill Zimbabwe cotton denim fabric, known for its distinct vertical fading where the color fades lengthwise. Zimbabwe cotton, being extra-long staple cotton, is often used in relatively soft and smooth fabrics due to its pliability. However, to give the denim fabric a firm body, we weave it by maximizing the weft density to its absolute limit. As a result, the fabric achieves long vertical fading (tate-ochi) and high-contrast fades. The fabric's selvedge (the edge of the fabric), a testament to being woven on a shuttle loom, is also used on the back of the placket. ＜Characteristic Western Style Details＞ The chest pockets and adjuster belt incorporate Western style. The chest pockets, angled towards the center, are a design adopted in vintage denim jackets to allow cowboys to easily retrieve items from their pockets with one hand. Since metal buttons on adjuster belts could scratch the saddle when riding, resin buttons like plastic were used. Following this, urea cat-eye buttons were employed, faithfully inheriting the vintage aesthetic. ＜Original Buttons＞ Particular attention was paid to the material texture and coloring of the parts, resulting in a vintage-like feel. The original buttons with the brand logo express both an homage to vintage styles and THE FLAT HEAD's playful spirit. ＜Chain Stitching for Enjoyable Puckering＞ The main parts, such as the shoulders, are sewn with double-needle chain stitching. Chain stitching, often seen in vintage workwear, was originally a sewing technique to enhance the strength of seams. By sewing with highly elastic chain stitches, the thread itself stretches with the fabric, creating unique irregularities (puckering) in the stitched areas. The way the puckering fades through friction, transforming into a three-dimensional look, is one of the charms of chain stitching. ＜Buttonholes Finished with Post-Cutting Method＞ The buttonholes are finished with a method called "post-cutting," where the fabric is cut after the buttonhole is embroidered. This results in thread tufts protruding from the embroidery, which act as a cushion between the hard button and the embroidery.
