The original denim fabric, created through extensive research into yarn dyeing, allows you to fully enjoy the fading process. Buttonholes The buttonholes are finished using a method called "ato-mesu" (post-cutting). The area around the hole is cut after being overlocked, leaving a tuft of thread in the center of the overlock. When attaching and detaching buttons, this remaining tuft acts as a buffer between the hard button and the overlock thread, preventing wear on the overlock thread. Navy colored stitching and bar tacks The color of the stitching around the front buttons is matched to the fabric, in navy. While yellow stitching is common for the front area (around the crotch), we've made it inconspicuous by using thread the same color as the fabric, rather than a bright thread color that stands out during wear. Belt loops By sewing the center of the belt loop with a slight bulge, the two threads holding the belt loop in place are made less prone to fraying. When worn for many years, the center of this belt loop will fade, creating a unique contrast where the stitching on both sides remains dark, and This is also an element that adds to the aged appearance of Flat Head jeans. Iron buttons Original iron buttons were created as a design choice to enhance the aged appearance and overall feel of the jeans. By applying anti-rust treatment, typical brown rust does not appear, and instead, the buttons develop increased luster and blackness. Original copper rivets Original rivets are also used for the pockets and other areas. By making them larger in diameter than typical jeans rivets, they securely hold even thick fabrics and serve to reinforce them. The gradual oxidation and blackening over time are also appealing features of copper rivets. Hidden rivets These are iron rivets plated with copper. As an effort to enhance the strength of the back pockets, the rivet position is lower than on typical jeans, Furthermore, by stitching very close to the side of the rivet, the thread is recessed, which also helps prevent thread breakage. Back pockets The back pockets feature THE FLAT HEAD's signature decorative stitching, which is synonymous with the brand.
