DENIME, which swept the Japanese fashion scene in the 1990s, overcame the crisis of extinction
and was updated and relaunched in 2023 with WAREHOUSE technology.

This series uses cotton made by re-utilizing "fallen cotton," which is discarded during the yarn manufacturing process, and is called "slub yarn."
The slub yarn made with a ring spinning machine manufactured in the 1950s has the same irregular shape that occurred naturally at that time.
"Raffy," an American cotton, has nearly half a century of proven results as the most naturally uneven yarn among all the cottons handled by Taisho Boseki.
Skilled craftsmen identify and blend different qualities of cotton, such as cotton born in fertile regions of America and strong elastic cotton from Mexico, and by blending "fallen cotton," which is short fiber usually discarded in the spinning process, a natural slub yarn with long and short fibers is created.
To directly turn this "Raffy" into yarn, Taisho Boseki still operates Japan's oldest spinning machine.
The ring spinning machine from Ishikawa Seisakusho, manufactured in 1953, commonly known as "Ishikawadai," has a rotational speed one-third of that of the latest spinning machines, and its production efficiency is incomparable.
Furthermore, while many spinning machines are now computerized and operate with a single touch, the Ishikawadai requires many manual steps, such as changing gears each time, and frequent maintenance.
However, on the other hand, it can produce natural yarns like slub yarn, and it has the characteristic of spinning with low-tech machinery that is closer to human hands than relying on computers.
DENIME requested Taisho Boseki to produce natural slub yarn using "Raffy" cotton and the "Ishikawadai."
It is said to be the world's first to make Raffy with the Ishikawadai ring spinning machine and weave it into denim fabric.
This slub yarn, carefully made at the same pace, has a shape that is completely different from those made with modern spinning machines.

The silhouette faithfully reproduces the expected image of "a slightly shallow rise and a tight straight fit."

Established in 1988 by designer Yoshiyuki Hayashi, it is a pioneer brand of replica jeans in Japan. After a change in ownership and other events, it was once on the verge of disappearing, but made a full comeback in 2023 under WAREHOUSE.
