■ STUDIO D'ARTISAN 16oz War Denim Jacket D4677 [Spring/Summer 2026 New Release]
![]() Model: Height 175cm, Weight 62kg, wearing size 40 In the early 1940s, during World War II, the United States needed to concentrate its national resources on the war effort. As part of this, the Wartime Production Board introduced strict regulations on the manufacture of civilian consumer goods, including clothing. In particular, cotton and metal parts (rivets, buttons, etc.) used in clothing were prioritized for military use, and all workwear, including jeans and denim jackets, was significantly affected. Under the board's guidance, details considered luxuries were thoroughly eliminated, and specifications were changed, such as replacing manufacturer-specific tack buttons with ready-made ones, reducing the number of front tack buttons from five to four, and omitting chest pocket flaps and buttons. As a result, each part of the denim jacket was greatly simplified to wartime specifications, transforming it into a utilitarian, rugged design. In addition, at that time, many skilled sewing workers were mobilized for military production, and it was common for inexperienced workers to be assigned to workwear sewing sites. Consequently, the quality of sewing was often rough, with uneven stitching and distortions not uncommon. However, even re-stitching was restricted, so these items were shipped as products as they were. Based on this wartime background, we have meticulously reproduced the rough and immediate sewing specifications and simplified details of that era. While intentionally recreating the uneven stitching and "distortions" in specifications, we have infused the dull indigo blue hue, reminiscent of oxidation, and the rough texture unique to the period into the 16.0oz selvedge denim prepared specifically for this denim jacket. The tack buttons are made of iron laurel wreath buttons, which will naturally rust with age. Additionally, the back panel seam, commonly known as a T-back, which was originally a detail only for larger sizes due to fabric width limitations and has become very popular, is now adopted for all sizes, allowing you to enjoy the wartime model's details even in a perfect fit. Please enjoy this "Wartime Model" with Studio D'Artisan's unique interpretation. Fabric thickness: 16oz Style: 1st Type Weight: 1060g ![]() Studio D'Artisan, founded in 1979, literally means "artisan's workshop". At that time, the concept of making jeans, now called vintage replica jeans, was almost non-existent in the Japanese jeans market. It is a pioneering brand that laid the foundation for manufacturing goods that pursue the dream of reproducing the flavor of jeans themselves, despite the efficiency aimed at mass production.
Size Details Color One-wash Material Outer fabric: Cotton Fabric thickness: 16oz Weight 1060g Remarks Sizes are actual measurements and average values are listed. Please note that there may be slight individual differences. *Since it has raglan sleeves, the sleeve length is measured from the armpit. Regarding the Product Many of our products are designed based on vintage items. To emphasize the atmosphere, there may be slight misalignments in sewing, differences in fabric color and texture due to processing, and color unevenness, but please understand that these are also part of the product's charm. Additionally, product specifications (sewing, parts, colors, sizes, etc.) may be changed without prior notice. We hope you will enjoy the product with an understanding of the above points. |
