■D'ARTISAN Studio D'Artisan STUDIO D'ARTISAN Niai Denim Jacket D4614

"Niai" refers to the purple color created by dyeing indigo and safflower repeatedly.
This color has existed since the Heian period and was particularly used in the attire of aristocrats.
At the time, purple was considered a noble color in the ranking system, and it was also a forbidden color allowed only to certain ranks.

It is characterized by the subtle shades woven from the depth of indigo and the vibrancy of safflower.
Japanese people have loved the beauty of this delicate color and incorporated it into their attire.

Studio D'Artisan has recreated this traditional Japanese color, "Niai," and produced original denim.
The warp threads are dyed with natural indigo and madder, expressing a purple with depth.
The natural unevenness unique to natural dyes accentuates its distinctive texture.
Both the warp and weft threads use a bumpy slub yarn of count 6.
By carefully weaving it over time using power looms in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture,
a heavy-duty finish with a unique texture has been achieved.

Since ancient times, Japanese people have incorporated various colors into their lives with the changing seasons and found beauty in them.
This denim, dyed with "Niai," exudes a unique presence that combines calmness, elegance, and strength.

STUDIO D'ARTISAN
The name Studio D'Artisan, founded in 1979, means "artisan workshop." At that time, the concept of making jeans, now called vintage replicas, hardly existed in the Japanese jeans market. It is a pioneering brand that laid the foundation for manufacturing that pursued the dream of reproducing the essence of jeans in the shadow of efficiency aimed at mass production.
