At this time, jeans production was severely restricted in "unnecessary" areas
to prioritize materials for World War II,
leaving no choice but to simplify various parts.
In addition, veteran seamsters were recruited to manufacture military uniforms,
and jeans were produced by less experienced workers.
D'ARTISAN recreates the atmosphere of the time by reproducing the crude stitching and simplified details
based on the historical background of the 1940s,
with a faded blue color that resembles oxidation.

Founded in 1979, Studio D'Artisan's name means "artisan workshop." At the time, the concept of jeans-making, now known as vintage replica jeans, was almost non-existent in the Japanese jeans market. This pioneering brand laid the foundation for manufacturing that pursued the dream of reproducing the authentic flavor of jeans, overshadowed by the efficiency aimed at mass production.
