The CM47, a perennial classic, has been released with a completely revamped material. As part of the newly launched LAST RESORT series "COMBAT MILLS,"
we have dismantled and analyzed vintage military materials to create a fabric woven from original yarn.
The first development in this series is this herringbone twill material. Similar to our 41KHAKI, we actually dismantled and analyzed several types of vintage military herringbone,
selecting the cotton from scratch to craft this JELADO original fabric. The cotton used is Deep South Cotton.
It faithfully reproduces the balance of softness and firmness unique to military materials, as well as the textured, uneven character of vintage pieces.
Furthermore, vintage military herringbone features a highly intricate weave structure that alternates S-twist and Z-twist yarns in the warp to increase the fabric's strength.
We have followed these specifications in this production as well, resulting in a herringbone twill with a distinctive cedar-leaf pattern.
The design is based on the baker pants (M-47) adopted by the U.S. military in 1947. Named for the bakers who originally wore them,
they are also known as "fatigue" pants and were highly practical, worn not only on the battlefield but also for indoor work.
As the successor to the M-43 pants, the M-47 features a simpler, more refined design that eliminated the large side cargo pockets and adopted urea buttons.
In this version, we have rebuilt the M-47 using our COMBAT MILLS herringbone twill.
The more you wear them, the more the color will fade, allowing you to enjoy the aging process unique to military gear. Much like our jackets, these are baker pants that you can truly enjoy "breaking in."
From material to weave to construction, everything is built to vintage standards. Alongside the CM43, we have completed a core piece for the COMBAT MILLS series.
