■Buzz Rickson's A-2 ROUGHWEAR CLOTHING CO. 451st BOMB.SQ. MISTER PERIOD TWICE ANILINE HAND FINISHED BR80668
![]() Model Height 175 cm, Weight 62 kg, Wearing size 38 When it comes to A-2s, Roughwear Clothing Co. is a well-known contractor. This model, supplied by the company five times in total, is the third under the 1942 contract. As the U.S. Army Air Forces mandated the "Property Air Force" notation midway through 1942, it features what is known as a "two-tier label," where two labels are sewn on top of each other. It also boasts the impressive form characteristic of Roughwear, such as a large collar with a stand. The leather used for this jacket is made from Italian raw hides, soaked in a tannin vat extracted from tree bark, and slowly tanned over time while varying the concentration. After careful tanning, aniline dye in seal brown is rubbed in by skilled craftsmen. Slight color variations are proof of the handmade process and are a finish favored by leather enthusiasts. Compared to lacquer finishes, leather finished with aniline dye has a more transparent color, which means the leather itself develops a rich character with use and age. <Bronco Hide Hand Aniline Finished> The surface rubs with wear, revealing exquisite color contrasts. It readily absorbs moisture and oils, and care with leather conditioning oil enhances its luster. Weight: 1750g ![]() Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprise, which also owns vintage American casual brands like Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company has a long history with military fashion, with its predecessor, Kosho Shokai, supplying goods such as souvenir jackets (Sukajan, etc.) to US military bases. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear reproductions, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, have all been perfectly crafted. ![]() ![]()
