■Buzz Rickson's A-2 Hand-Painted IN ALASKA A.C. No.W535 ac 29191 BUZZ RICKSON CLO.CO. BR80667
![]() Model Height 175 cm, Weight 62 kg, wearing size 38 This A-2 model was manufactured in 1942 by Bronco Mfg. Co. located in New York. Bronco Mfg. Co. produced A-2s under contract twice, and this model is from the first delivery lot. The stipulated colors for the A-2 in the Army Air Force were Seal Brown, a dark brown resembling a seal's color, and Russet Brown, a reddish-brown resembling adzuki beans. This model is finished in a typical "adzuki bean" color, making it truly Russet Brown. The A-2 pattern was created in 1930, and until its discontinuation in 1944, 18 manufacturers produced a total of 39 lots. Bronco Mfg. Co.'s first lot boasted the largest production quantity of all A-2 lots, with 59,000 units. The powerful and speedy stitching seen throughout, indicative of this exceptional production volume, is evident in details such as the curve above the zipper attachment on the left body panel and the angular pockets. The hanger loop is also attached in a way that eliminates the need to rotate the jacket, another design element focused on speed. Furthermore, the epaulets use the same design regardless of size, so depending on the size, the cross-stitching may be slightly offset from the collar and shoulder edges. The fact that Bronco Mfg. Co. achieved the largest production lot for the A-2 confirms that they had an excellent production capacity environment, and their accomplishments and track record are simply admirable. Weight: 1550g ![]() Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprises, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's relationship with military items dates back to its predecessor, Kosho Shokai, which supplied products like souvenir jackets (sukajan) to US military bases. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, their reproductions of military wear, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, have all been perfectly executed. ![]() ![]()
