 Model Height 175cm, Weight 62kg, wearing size 31 inches These denim waist overalls were created under wartime controls during World War II to address material shortages. The rivets at the coin pocket opening and the bar tacks on the hip pockets, which were present on previous models, were omitted. To match William Gibson's aesthetic, the leather label features black foil stamping and the flasher uses a monotone design. "FOR THE DURATION" on the flasher means "during the war," indicating that specifications were changed due to material controls until the end of the war. In the 1940s, the U.S. government presented "E pennants" (meaning "Excellent") to companies that produced outstanding war materials to honor their achievements. This flasher envisions Buzz Rickson's as a flight jacket contractor during the war, having received an E pennant. Iron arabesque pattern doughnut buttons. Rivets on the coin pocket were omitted due to wartime material controls. The label, which shrinks significantly when heat is applied, requires careful handling. Made with original selvedge denim. The back yoke, with its differing heights on the left and right, adds a tasteful touch. Olive herringbone twill is used. The selvedge can be seen inside the pockets. Above the hidden rivets, there would normally be bar tacks, but chain stitching is a characteristic of the wartime model. Rough-textured 13.6oz original denim. The Black MA-1, first produced by Buzz Rickson's for their 10th anniversary. In renowned novelist William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition," the protagonist wears a "Buzz Rickson's Black MA-1." From that novel, the actual Buzz Rickson's Black MA-1 was born. While the official color of the MA-1, adopted by the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s, was originally sage green, there was no authentic military-spec Black MA-1 in existence that used parts and materials based on military specifications. Therefore, it was well-received and became a話題 (hot topic) among genuine-minded users in the market. Even when instructing to dye each material black, the dyeing results varied depending on the material, and when assembled into a single jacket, subtle color differences appeared, making it clear how many different materials a flight jacket is composed of.  Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprise, which also owns vintage American casual brands like Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's connection to the military dates back to its predecessor, Kosho Shokai, which supplied souvenir jackets (such as sukajan) to U.S. military bases. In 1993, they launched their first flight jacket. Since then, each military garment they reproduce, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, is perfectly executed.
