■BUZZ RICKSON'S BR42594 / BLACK TIGER PATTERN TROUSERS OVER DIE WILLIAM GIBSON
![]() Model Height 175cm, Weight 62kg, wearing size M The classic gold tiger camo is overdyed to black. During the Vietnam War, soldiers created their own overdyed items. Enjoy the process as the tiger pattern emerges with wear and washing. In the 1960s, the U.S. Military Procurement Office in Japan chose to procure camouflage uniforms in Japan. This was because Japan possessed advanced printing technology and speedy production capabilities, and was also superior in terms of cost. The patterns were left to the discretion of the factory sites across Japan, which is why countless variations of the tiger stripe pattern were born. Many early tiger stripes were made in Japan, but some fabrics were sent to Okinawa for sewing, and during the later stages of the Vietnam War, they were also manufactured in Thailand and around Vietnam. <WILLIAM GIBSON COLLECTION> The BLACK MA-1 was Buzz Rickson's first production, produced for their 10th anniversary. In the internationally renowned novelist William Gibson's novel "Pattern Recognition," the protagonist is described as wearing a "Buzz Rickson's Black MA-1." Emerging from that novel, the actual Buzz Rickson's Black MA-1 was born. The standard color for the MA-1, officially adopted by the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s, was originally sage green. However, a black MA-1 based on military specifications with military-grade parts and materials based on mil-spec did not exist in the world. For this reason, it was well-received and became a hot topic among authentic users in the market. Even if materials are specified in black, the dye absorption varies depending on the material, and when assembled into a single jacket, subtle color differences emerge, clearly showing how many different materials make up a flight jacket. Weight: 660g ![]() Buzz Rickson's is a military brand of Toyo Enterprise, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's relationship with the military is old, with roots dating back to the Koushoji era, its predecessor, when it supplied souvenir jackets (such as sukajan) to US military bases. In 1993, it launched its first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear successively reproduced by the company, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly made. ![]()
