The "Jungle Fatigue" field uniform for tropical regions, adopted and supplied during the Vietnam War, had trousers similar to the jacket. The exposed buttons of the first model were replaced by hidden buttons from the second model onwards, and the straps used to secure the contents of the cargo pockets were abolished. The waist adjustment tabs were also changed from button-type to metal-type, and the material became ripstop fabric.

Buzz Rickson's is a military brand of Toyo Enterprises, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company has a long history with military wear, having supplied souvenir jackets (such as Sukajan) to US military bases during its predecessor company, Kosho Shokai. In 1993, the company released its first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear it has reproduced has been as perfect as Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear.
