Adopted in the mid-1960s, the M-65 can be considered the ultimate field jacket, incorporating the wisdom and ingenuity accumulated through approximately 30 years of research and trial-and-error since the U.S. military began developing field jackets.
The M-65 saw active service in the Vietnam War. Soldiers customized their jackets, which had endured hardships with them, by attaching unit patches or embroidering maps of Vietnam, a battle-scarred land.
Some soldiers with artistic talent even hand-painted their jackets, transforming the simple and understated military uniform into a vibrant garment.
On the back of this jacket, a dynamic depiction of an army soldier speeding in a tank is powerfully illustrated.
The art of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, a master and artist who built custom car culture in America,
was hugely popular in the United States during the Vietnam War.

The M-65 continues to reign as the ultimate field jacket.
Its roots trace back to the M-41 field jacket after World War II,
and it underwent continuous improvements through trial and error over time,
reaching its perfected form during the Vietnam War.
This highly refined M-65 field jacket continues to exert a significant influence on current civilian clothing, and
even at the time, it was a revolutionary jacket that garnered immense popularity among soldiers.
It uses back sateen, a cotton sateen fabric turned inside out. The hood, neatly stored inside, has a strong presence,
and the cuff width can be adjusted by detaching the hook-and-loop fastener.
True to its moniker as a "field coat," it has a slightly relaxed silhouette to allow for ample layering underneath.

Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprise, which also owns vintage American casual brands like Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. Their connection with military items is long-standing, with roots in supplying souvenir jackets (such as Sukajan) to U.S. military bases during their predecessor company, Kosho & Co. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear they reproduce has been consistently perfect, much like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear.
