■Buzz Rickson's BR15768 / AVIATION ASSOCIATES TANKERS CAMOUFLAGE OVER DYE
![]() Model Height 175cm, Weight 62kg, wearing size L The Tankers jacket, affectionately known by army tank crewmen, was a popular garment. Its simple design, moderate warmth, and excellent mobility made it so popular that it was adopted by air force pilots beyond the tank crews. During World War II, the Army and Marine Corps introduced field uniforms and equipment materials called "frog skin," which soldiers wore to protect their lives and camouflage themselves in forests. In the early 19th century, during a time when uniforms were white and easily spotted by enemy forces, and also because they would get stained with dirt in the field, fabrics dyed khaki (earth color) began to be used. This Tankers jacket, following that example, features frog skin herringbone twill dyed in an earthy color. The subtly visible frog skin pattern in earthy tones evokes a nostalgic atmosphere, reminiscent of late autumn vegetation. <AVIATION ASSOCIATES> From the 1920s to the 1940s, various flight suits incorporating military specifications were also sold commercially to civilians. Analyzing old photographic records from during the war, it is sometimes possible to identify pilots wearing these commercially available jackets, which tells a story of them actually taking to the skies. Normally, wearing jackets other than those issued by the military was, of course, against regulations, but it can be said to be a typical example of regulations being relaxed during wartime. The main differences between military-issued and commercially available items were in design and material usage, with many colors conforming to those of military-issued items. Particularly in terms of the jacket's exterior design, many items were arrangements based on military-issued goods, resulting in many attractive jackets with a very classical impression. Aviation Associates comprises these legendary jackets that Buzz Rickson's, a military contractor at the time, released for the civilian market. We invite you to experience these masterful pieces, which encapsulate the spirit of Buzz Rickson's. Weight: 1300g ![]() Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprise, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's relationship with the military dates back to its predecessor, Kosho Shokai, which supplied souvenir jackets (such as sukajan) to US military bases. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear they have reproduced, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly crafted. ![]() ![]()
