B-15C (MOD.) After World War II, the advent of jet aircraft necessitated a major overhaul of existing aviation equipment, and flight jackets were no exception. The most significant change in aviation equipment was the introduction of hard helmets to protect pilots' heads from aircraft vibration, but the larger headgear interfered with the collar of flight jackets. To solve this problem, the B-15 series was modified to create the "Modified" (MOD.) model. The modification involved removing the mouton collar from the body and reattaching a wool rib knit. To perform this operation, the body had to be turned inside out, making it impossible to attach the collar otherwise. Therefore, the waist rib on the back was temporarily removed. As a result, sewing marks can be seen on the collar and hem. This modification was frequently seen on B-15 series A, B, C, and D, and a white label was added later to prove that it had been officially modified. It is commonly misunderstood that each type was developed and then modified in sequence, but this is incorrect; the modifications were made in the late 1950s as part of an overhaul of aviation equipment. The company's relationship with the military dates back to the time of its predecessor, Kosho Shokai, when it supplied souvenir jackets (such as Sukajan) to US military bases. In 1993, it released its first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear it has faithfully reproduced has been as perfect as Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear.
