The US Army Air Force tested various materials to resolve the problems with the A-2 summer flight jacket (expensive, difficult to mass produce, etc.). In 1945, with the adoption of nylon, which DuPont developed in 1939, the Type L-2 flight jacket for the light zone (temperature range of 10°C to 30°C) was completed on May 21. This new material and the collarless design became the basic model that would greatly change subsequent flight jackets. The Type L-2 was equipped with a leather box tab to secure the oxygen mask hose, and the lining was made of a double-woven fabric of slippery nylon and wool with appropriate heat retention. Only three contracts were made for the delivery of the L-2 in total, and this L-2 was one of the first produced by Reed Products, Inc. Weight: 860g  Buzz Rickson's is a military brand of Toyo Enterprise, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's relationship with the military dates back to its predecessor, Kosho Co., Ltd., which supplied products such as souvenir jackets (Sukajan, etc.) to US military bases. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear that has been reproduced one after another, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly crafted.
