The A-2 deck jacket was adopted as the successor model to the U.S. Navy's N-1 deck jacket. Compared to the N-1, there are changes in color and materials used. The outer fabric is now back satin, and the lining has been changed to nylon boa. This was the result of reviewing productivity and cost. As for the specifications, the basic details such as the front fly with button and zipper closure and the ribs built into the cuffs are inherited from the N-1, but the collar has been changed and chest pockets, and a hem adjuster have been added. This A-2 deck jacket, with its simple appearance and essential functionality, is a utility jacket typical of the U.S. Navy.  Buzz Rickson's is a military brand of Toyo Enterprise, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company has a long history with the military, with its predecessor, Kosho & Co., supplying souvenir jackets (such as sukajan) to U.S. military bases. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, their faithfully reproduced military wear, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly crafted.
