 Model Height: 175cm, Weight: 62kg, wearing size S The M-51 parka evolved from the M-48 pullover parka, which itself developed from World War II. It was primarily issued to U.S. Army soldiers stationed in the cold regions of the Korean War. As this was a cold climate unlike anything the U.S. military had previously experienced, a layering system was adopted, allowing it to be worn over regular equipment. The shell of the earliest model (1951) was made of thick cotton sateen, but models from 1952 onwards were changed to cotton-nylon oxford fabric to reduce costs and weight. The cuffs have built-in rubber strap adjuster belts to enhance sealing, and the pocket lining uses a warm wool material.  Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprise, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's relationship with military items dates back to the era of its predecessor, Kosho Co., Ltd., when it supplied souvenir jackets (such as Sukajan) to U.S. bases. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear they have successively reproduced, much like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly crafted.
