The M-43 boot is characterized by its roughout (suede side) exterior. With the upper leather, stitching, shoelaces, eyelets, and
welt (the thin leather connecting the upper and sole) all in black, these M-43 boots exude a calm and dignified elegance.

＜M-43 SHOES＞
The US Army's M-43 service shoes, known as Type 3 and featuring a rough side out (suede side of the leather), were adopted in 1943.
While the previous model, the M-42 Type 2, used smooth leather with the grain side out, the Type 3 was designed with the grain side facing inward,
making it easier to put on and take off, and providing a highly comfortable fit. Additionally, a penetrating wax treatment was applied to enhance leather preservation and waterproofing.
There were also changes in specifications; the Type 2 had a toe cap, but this was removed in the Type 3 for improved mobility.
The sole also improved from a half-rubber sole to a full sole covering the entire bottom of the shoe, enhancing both waterproofing and durability.
Two versions of the M-43 Type 3 exist: an early model with rivets at the tip of the wing, and a late model from 1944 onwards where the rivets were omitted.
During World War II, these shoes were used as footgear by soldiers in all combat zones, including the intense battlefields of Europe, and were also favored as flying shoes by pilots and
aircrews. The M-43 service shoes gained widespread recognition when Steve McQueen, playing Virgil Hilts in the movie "The Great Escape," wore them with an A-2 jacket,
and they have since maintained an unshakeable popularity as the preferred footgear to accompany the A-2.

＜WILLIAM GIBSON COLLECTION＞
The BLACK MA-1 was first produced by Buzz Rickson's when the brand celebrated its 10th anniversary. The internationally renowned novelist William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition" features the words "Buzz Rickson's Black MA-1" worn by the protagonist. From that novel, the actual Buzz Rickson's Black MA-1 was born. While the official color for the MA-1 adopted by the US Air Force in the 1950s was originally sage green, there was no authentic military-spec BLACK MA-1 made with military-standard parts and materials in black. For this reason, it was well-received and became a hot topic among authentic users in the market. Even when instructing all materials to be dyed black, the dyeing process varies depending on the material. When assembled into a single jacket, subtle differences in color appear, clearly showing how many different materials make up a flight jacket.

Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprise, which also owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's relationship with the military dates back a long time, to when its predecessor, Port Trading Company, supplied products like souvenir jackets (sukajan) to US military bases. In 1993, the company released its first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear it has faithfully reproduced, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly crafted.
