Boonie hat with ERDL camouflage.

The loops around the hat are for inserting tree branches and leaves to enhance the camouflage effect.
Around 1965, the US military completed its full-fledged camouflage, 'ERDL'.

The design, inspired by lush jungle leaves, is also known as the 'Leaf Pattern'.
Early 'ERDL' used cotton poplin, but later models changed to
tear-resistant cotton ripstop.

'ERDL' is an abbreviation of 'Engineer Research and Development Laboratory' of the US military,
as it was developed by them.

Buzz Rickson's is a military brand of Toyo Enterprises, which owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. The company's connection with the military is long-standing, with its predecessor, Kosho Shokai, supplying souvenir jackets (such as sukajan) to US military bases. In 1993, they launched their first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear they reproduce, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly crafted.
